First Winery Dinner and other News

I am excited to announce our first winery dinner with Mi Sueno Winery in Napa.  The dinner will take place at Kinzie Chophouse on January 22 starting at 6:30 pm.  It will be a four course dinner with wine pairings.    Members will be seated in a private room for this lovely dinner.  I picked Mi Sueno for this occasion because I have a personal fondness for this winery and the owner,  Rolando Herrera, Proprietor/Winemaker
In 1985, at the age of 17, he accepted a summer job working for Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars.  Ironically his first job had little to do with wine; he was hired as a laborer to help build a stone wall around the home of Warren Winiarski.  Not long after, he was offered a job working harvest under the condition that he would attend school in the morning.

Over the next 20+ years his journey through the ranks of winemaking would lead to:

10 years at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, the last 7 years as Cellar Master
Assistant Winemaker at Chateau Potelle
Winemaker at Vine Cliff Winery
Director of Winemaking at Paul Hobbs Consulting
Each stop played a significant role in refining his style of winemaking.
I look forward to introducing each of you to his wines and my course pairings for each.  We will only be able to accommodate 30 guests for this intimate dinner, so emailing me early with your RSVP is crucial if you are interested in attending.
